
Zoom instructions for laptop or desktop computer
​​For those using laptop or desktop computer, this is what you need to do:

You need to download the zoom software. Click here to do this. You will need to select the first product listed, “Zoom Client for Meetings”.

Sign up to Zoom. Click here to do this. You can sign up using your email address and create a password you will remember. Or, you can sign in via your Google or Facebook account.

Please note: in these times of heavy internet usage, it can take up to 30 minutes for you to receive an email from Zoom asking you to confirm your account.

Once you have signed up, you will be taken to your Zoom dashboard. It looks something like this:

Before the service (or meeting) you will be sent an email which has the "Meeting ID" and an associated password. The Meeting ID and password will also be published on the "Our Services" page of our website shortly before the service begins.

You need to copy the ID (you can highlight the ID number and then right click and find "copy" or push the control (command on a Mac) button along with letter "c"

That will bring you to this screen:

Paste the meeting ID into the box below the words "Join a Meeting". You can do this by placing your cursor in the box and right clicking - find the word "paste". Or, hold down the control (command on Mac) key and press the letter "v".

Copy the password and paste that into the box when prompted. (same method as you used to copy and paste the Meeting ID)

You will then be able to join the church service (or meeting) and participate.

A separate window will open in which you will be requested to allow the Zoom app to make changes to your device.
You need to say yes.

*** Please be aware - the host of the meeting has various controls. They may choose to mute your microphone so as to lessen disturbance in the main window - you cannot override this decision by the host.
