John Macrae Centre

John Macrae Centre is a Social Support Program for people

over the age of 65 years living in Southern metropolitan Melbourne

Come and join in the activities, enjoy a home cooked meal and meet new people.

Various activities are offered according to interests. These may include quizzes, music, entertainers, guest speakers, craft, garden activities and outings in the community.

Meals

Lunch provided. Dietary needs can be catered for.

Transport

Transport to and from the centre can be provided within an eligible range distance.

Fees

The program is funded through the government’s Commonwealth Home and Support program.

Client contribution is charged.

History

The John Macrae Centre is a mission outreach of the congregation and ministry of the Toorak Uniting Church. The Centre was opened in 1968 and has grown from a fortnightly lunch club to a five day a week program catering for over 80 people.

The range of programs provided is specifically designed to enhance the quality of life for participants and their carers.
The professional staff and volunteers provide a high standard of service, maintaining dignity, self-worth and independence.
