Facilities Hire FAQs

TUC has a range of versatile spaces available for corporate, community and private events, with options for one-off, irregular and ongoing bookings. We can accommodate concerts, rehearsals, meetings, post-wedding and funeral refreshments, educational and exercise classes, tutoring and much more. If you have an enquiry or are ready to make a booking, please fill out our Facilities Hire Enquiry Form and we will respond promptly. The office will advise of availability and pricing and can make a provisional booking for you. To secure your booking, you will need to complete a Hire Agreement with your contact and event details, and provide the office with your Public Liability Insurance (PLI). If you don’t have PLI, the office can arrange casual cover for you under the Uniting Church in Australia’s policy.
If your booking is during our office hours, at least one TUC staff member will be available should you require assistance. Outside of these hours, the office will provide you with a comprehensive guide to the facilities to ensure you feel comfortable using them.

Every booking includes use of our tables and chairs, if applicable, with the option to add on AV and/or piano hire for an additional cost.

We also have a lectern and two whiteboards for use, subject to availability.

We do not have any tablecloths, so please bring your own if they’re required.
Unless arranged otherwise with the office, the room(s) will be ready with your setup and you may leave it as is at the end of your booking. You may rearrange the tables and chairs as needed, but please do not move any other furniture, including the pianos. You may also bring additional equipment and decorations, ensuring that you take them away with you and leave the space in a tidy condition as you found it.
TUC has a data projector and screen and a portable PA with a wireless microphone and speaker stand, perfect for meetings and presentations, available for hire at an additional cost. We also have a number of music and microphone stands available for use when hiring the church.
If you have made a Music Venue booking, piano use is included in the hire cost. If you have made a standard room booking and would like to use the piano, this can be arranged with the office for an additional cost.

The Main Building has male, female and accessible toilets with a baby change table. These are the toilets that are used when you book the church. Argyle House has three of its own fully accessible toilets.
There are reverse-cycle air conditioners capable of heating and cooling available in most spaces on-site, as well as large portable fans on request.

The church is fitted with gas heating that quickly warms the space in cooler months.
Wi-fi is freely available across the site. Please contact the office for the access details.
If you regularly hire a space at TUC, we can offer storage space for your items at an additional cost. If you’re interested in short-term storage, please contact the office.

There are limited parking spaces on-site at TUC, including a dedicated accessible space at the back of the church opposite the entrance to Kinross House. If you require more than one accessible space, please contact the office, and we can arrange for up to two more.

Our spaces can be booked for parties, however extra noise and safety conditions apply, and a refundable bond will be charged. TUC is not a licensed venue, so alcohol may only be served if you bring it yourself and do not charge guests for it.
